National Symposium on Sintering
(NSS 2024)

This Sintering Symposium aims to enlighten researchers in the core and allied field of sintering (of ceramics, metals, composites etc) about the principles and practices concerning shaping & consolidation issues and subsequent characterization tools and techniques employed for the assessment of microstructure and properties.

Objectives of the Sintering Symposium

  • To connect an individual with the current and future advancements involving sintering of various classes of high temperature materials (e.g., metals, ceramics and glass-ceramics)

  • To enrich the process wisdom of an individual by learning how significantly process parameters (during a sintering process) can influence the structural and functional properties of materials. Specific case studies starting from modelling and simulation of sintering processes, development of microstructure and their correlations with properties will be focus areas.

  • To educate the audience with the recent updates on sintering techniques involving additive manufacturing for energy and biomedical applications.

  • To hone the characterization skills of the attendees involving failure analysis of sintered products via live tutorials.

  • To provide a platform to the students to showcase their work (via Oral and Poster presentations) in front of a reputed panel of globally well-known researchers and faculties.
